Marilyn S. Wilson Sparks, passed away on August 13, 2024, at the age of 83. Born in Athens County to the late Herbert and Dorothy Montgomery Wilson, Marilyn lived her entire life in Athens and Hocking counties.
Marilyn was a former employee of Belks, Sears, and Elberfeld’s of Logan and the former Diagnostic Hybrids in Athens. She was honored to work at DHI and developed many lasting friendships during her 25 year employment. Throughout her life she was known to be a hardworking, dependable employee who made numerous friends at each of her jobs.
Marilyn attended Hocking Hills Church and was a Christian throughout her life, having also attended the Haydenville Methodist Church for numerous years.
She is survived by her daughter, Trina (Mike) Barrell; son, Thomas (Cindy) Sparks; sister, Wyona Puckett; brother, Merritt Wilson; and sister in law, Ruthie Wilson. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Andrew (Melissa) and Nick (Courtney) Barrell, Christopher (CeCe), Breanna, Amber, and Hunter Sparks; and 8 Great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews and former daughter in law, Marty Sparks.
Siblings Richard, William, Paul, David, and Jack Wilson preceded her in death along with sister, Wanda Jayjohn.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 16, 2024, in Greenlawn Cemetery Nelsonville, Ohio, with Rev. Rodney Rogers officiating. Arrangements are through Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St, Logan.
To honor Marilyn, the family asks those who would like to donate to do so to the Pickering House, 282 Sells Rd, Lancaster, Ohio 43130, in her memory.
