Marjorie M. Huston, 96, of Hamden, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at Hamden Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born August 5, 1920 in Vinton County, daughter of the late Harry Clifford and Mary Agnes Collins Eberts. Marjorie was the widow of the late Max Jennings Huston.
She was the owner and administrator of the former Huston Nursing Home in Hamden.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Kent (Ann) Huston of Lancaster, Gary (Lenoir) Huston of Wilkesville, Helen (Mark) Mullen of Hamden, Max Huston of Hamden and Linda (Steve) Burns of Hamden; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother, Esau (Nellie) Eberts of Hamden and a brother-in-law, Ralph Sowers of Waverly.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kerri Burns Moore; brothers, Neal, Wallace, Bernard, Eldon and Leonard Eberts and sisters, Arabella Powell and Louise Sowers.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Robert Powell officiating. Interment will be in Hamden Cemetery, Hamden. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, July 10, 2017 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service.
