Mark Franklin McGuire

Mark Franklin McGuire, 74, of Nelsonville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 30, 2024, at his home. Mark was born on February 11, 1950, in Logan, the son of the late Franklin McGuire and the late Venus M. (Reynolds) Thompson. He was married to Diane (Jonas) McGuire who survives.

Mark was a graduate of Nelsonville York High School. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam era. Mark owned and operated McGuire’s Carpentry for many years. He was also a member of The Village Church in Buchtel.

Mark is survived by his wife, Diane; son, Ryan (Katie) McGuire of Nelsonville; daughter, Kristina McGuire of Nelsonville; step daughters, Melissa (Rick) Herzog of Buchtel and Mary Jean (Scott) McPherson of Columbus; grandchildren, Billy, Bobby, Emma, Trevis, Aiden, Colin, Cammie, Eli, and Julian; sister, Carolyn “Suzie” (Tex) Willison of Lancaster; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Katrina McGuire; step son, Sherman Perkins; sister, Sharon Kay McGuire; and niece, Misty Lee.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Greenlawn Cemetery, 15550 Twp-36, Nelsonville, with Pastor David Shoemaker officiating. Military Rites will be provided by the Combined Color Guard. Arrangements are through the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville.
