Martha Jean Newton

Martha Jean Newton, 85, of Lancaster, formerly of Nelsonville, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021, at Crestview Manor in Lancaster.  She was born September 28, 1935, in Nelsonville, Ohio, daughter of the late Donald and Maude McManaway Newton.

Martha enjoyed working as a Registered Nurse for many years.  She enjoyed quilting and loved to be out on the water boating.

Martha is survived by her daughter, Jenny (David) Grove of Lancaster; son, Ed Parsons of Logan; granddaughters, Jackie (Troy) Starner of Pleasantville, Elizabeth (Eric) Burwell of Lancaster, Sarah (Justin) Wilkins of Lancaster, Brandi (Mike) Tipple of Lancaster, and Blair (Jeff) Reed of Lancaster; 14 great grandchildren; and sister, Betty White of Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Blimes; and brother, Thomas Newton.

No services will be held.  Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
