Martha Nicholson

November 28, 1943 — January 31, 2021

Martha Nicholson, 77, of McArthur, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021, at OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital in Athens.  She was born November 28, 1943, in Pikeville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Miles and Sara Thacker.  Martha was married to the late John R. Nicholson.

She is survived by her sons, John Nicholson of Hillsboro, Raymond (Robin) Nicholson of Dundas, Ronald  (Jessica) Nicholson of McArthur, James (Melissa) Nicholson of McArthur, Timothy (Melinda) Nicholson of Jackson and Jason Nicholson of Prattsville; daughters, Freda (Jim) Vogan of Tennessee, Sarah (James) Browning of Jackson and Brenda (Dave) Sperry of Albany; twenty four grandchildren; many great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; sister, Betty Clark of Allensville; daughter-in-law, Rita Nicholson of Wellston and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Matthew Nicholson; a sister and brothers.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, February 4, 2021, in Prattsville Cemetery, Prattsville, Ohio, with Pastor Rob Ervin officiating.  No visitation will be held.

Please observe all COVID-19 guidelines by wearing a mask and social distancing while in attendance.
