Mary P. Dennis, 88, of Gahanna, formerly of Logan, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 at her residence. She was born August 30, 1929 in Hocking County, daughter of the late Chester and Carrie Ethelyn Matheny Kennard. Mary was the widow of the late Wayne E. Dennis.
She was a retired bookkeeper at Amanda Bent Bolt and was an active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Logan before moving to Gahanna.
Mary is survived by her son, Mark (Melanie) Dennis of Gahanna; daughter, Lisa (Gerald) Jajowka of Stow, Ohio; grandchildren, Leah (James) Tunningley, Kelsey (Patrick) Walden and Jereth (Courtney Chicoine) Jajowka and a great grandchild, Carson Walden.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters.
Mary (Miss Poopsie) was loved and adored by all who knew her. Her beautiful smile would light up a room and her sweet and quiet personality would immediately draw people to her. Her family was her life and she was its inspiration because her love and compassion knew no bounds. Her kind words and assurances brought strength and comfort to all based on her deep faith in our Lord which filled her with courage and peace. Her pure heart and spirit continues to shine in all who knew and cherished her. As her family and friends mourn, they will be uplifted by the faith she lived through daily example all of her life. The Heavens are rejoicing in welcoming their Child, Mother, Wife and Friend home wrapped in eternal love and Christ’s peace.
Services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Peace Lutheran Church, 455 Clark State Rd., Gahanna, Ohio 43230. Friends may call at the church on Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
