Mary Frances Dishong

Mary Frances Dishong, 92, of Coolville, passed away Sunday December 20, 2020 at Grant Medical Center, Columbus.  She was born May 27, 1928 in Logan County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Robert and Esther Pickett Hatfield.  She was married to Harold “Burt” Dishong, for 49 years, and he passed away in 1994.

She retired from Goodyear in Logan, and previously worked at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Nelsonville.  She was greatly loved and will be sadly missed.

Mary is survived a son, Jerry (Melanie) Dishong of Nelsonville; daughter, Pamela (Les) Washburn of Coolville;  five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; daughter in law, Cheryl Dishong of Nelsonville; special friend, Bob Cunningham of Nelsonville; many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Earl “Bob” Dishong; daughter, Tamela Lanning; two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday December 23, 2020 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.  Pastor Robert Vanbibber officiating.  Interment will be in Connett Cemetery, Nelsonville.  Friends may visit Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
