Mary Bennett

Mary Frances Bennett, 79, of Logan, passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Mary was born on March 30, 1945, in Columbus, the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Elias. She was married for 63 years to Joe R. Bennett who survives.

Mary had a significant influence on her family. She was more than just a mom and grandmother; she was a force of nature, strong, independent, and resilient. She had an incredible ability to take on the world.

She was the woman who showed her family how to create magic in the kitchen. Cooking with her wasn’t just about food, it was about love and about family. She made amazing homemade cookies and pizza. Mary will be remembered for all the time spent with family, playing scrabble, cards, and dice, laughing, and always solving crossword puzzles first.

She cared for her family in ways only she could, with a tenderness and devotion that made everyone feel safe and cherished. Her hugs were a sanctuary, her laughter a comfort, and her wisdom a guide. There is an unbearable silence left in her absence, but her lessons, her love, and her spirit will live on in everyone she knew.

She will be loved and remembered, always and forever!

Mary is survived by her husband, Joe; sons, Paul (Tammy) Bennett of London, Ohio and Ronald Bennett of Logan; daughter, Mary (Paul Perry) Bennett of Logan; grandchildren, Jodee Blake, Jolene Walther, Jessica (Chris) Mohler, Jennifer Burton, Tim Bennett, David Bennett, Lezlee Armes, and Tessa Bennett; 16 great grandchildren; brother, John (Sue) Elias of New Lexington; and sisters, Shirley Johnson of Columbus, Emmy Waldron of Ray, and Betty Freeman of Dayton.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Margaret Epling; and brother, Frank Elias.

No services will be held at this time. Arrangements are with the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St, Logan.
