Mary K. Hutchison

Mary Kathryn Hutchison, 86, of Athens, passed away at her home on Friday, September 23, 2022.  She was born July 19, 1936, in Richmond Dale, Ohio, the daughter of the late Lester and Fannie (Consoliver) McAfee. She was the widow of the late John Hutchison.

Mary worked for many years and retired from Hocking College.  Her family, including her work family, meant everything to her.  She was known as Ma Hutch and will be remembered by her family and friends for her giving and caring soul; her arms were always open to all, and she shared her love with everyone she met.  Mary also loved the outdoors, especially during the years she spent living in Colorado.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Kathy Candelaria of Athens; granddaughters, Elyse Marie Chambers of Albany and Megan (Chuck) Stansell of East Canton, Ohio; great grandchildren, Avery, Ella, and Olivia Chambers and Josie and Jackson Stansell; sister-in-law, Dorothy McAfee; step daughter, Karen Downhour; and step son, John Hutchison.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her son, Tom Mullins; brother, John McAfee; and sister, Anne McAfee.

No services will be held at this time.  Arrangements are through the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
