Mary Alice Rathburn

Mary Alice Rathburn, 96, of Zaleski, passed away Saturday March 3, 2018 at her residence. She was born October 21, 1921 in New Vienna, Ohio, daughter of the late John and Mabel Long Bedinghaus. She was married to the late Max M. Rathburn.

She was a waitress at Murphy’s Restaurant and the restaurant at Lake Hope. Member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Zaleski; McArthur Senior Center; Zaleski High School Alumni; Red Hat Society; and volunteered often at O’Bleness Hospital and McArthur Elementary Schools.

Mary is survived by sons, Stephen (Ruby) Rathburn of McConnelsville and David (Lela) Rathburn of Zaleski; daughter, Carolyn (Mike) Riffle of Zaleski; grandchildren, Michael Riffle, Matt Rathburn, Barbie Clark and Audra Rathburn; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; loving care-givers, Cassie (Billy) Adkins and Pam Frank.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Morgan and Betty Slattery.

Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday March 8, 2018 at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, 119 N. 2 ^nd St., Zaleski, Ohio 45698 with Rev. Fr. Sean Dooley and Rev. Fr. David Young officiating. Burial to follow at St. Sylvester Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
