Mason F. Bownes

Mason F. Bownes, 81, of Nelsonville, passed away Monday, August 29, 2022, at The Ohio State University Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus.  He was born May 23, 1941, in Logan, son of the late Fred and Eva Williams Bownes.  Mason was married to Carol May Bownes, who survives.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of the Hocking County Humane Society.

Mason is survived by his sons, Mark (Lorri) Bownes of Haydenville and Mitch (Christina Patterson) Bownes of Nelsonville; daughter, Lanette (Larry) Blair of Nelsonville; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, September 2, 2022, in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Pastor Barbara Harkless officiating.  Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Mason F. Bownes to the Hocking County Humane Society, 36960 Hocking Dr., Logan, Ohio 43138.
