Melvin M. Scott

Melvin M. Scott, 67, of McArthur, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.  He was born November 29, 1951 in Vinton County, son of the late Neil L. and Thelma P. Hutt Scott.  Melvin was married for 42 years to Dorothy L. Dayton Scott, who survives.

He retired from the Vinton County Highway Department, was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Antioch Kelly Church in Vinton County and was also a member of the American Legion in Wellston.

Melvin is survived by his children, Chad W. Scott of McArthur, Martin “Butch” (Pam) Graves of Londonderry, Bonnie Myers of McArthur and Eric (Lisa Jordan) Waldron of McArthur; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; brother, Sam (Bonnie) Scott of Langsville; sister, Teresa (David) Yates of McArthur and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant grandson; son, J.D. Waldron; daughter-in-law, Amy Waldron and brother, Mike Scott.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Monday, May 13, 2019 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Jason Hutton officiating.  Burial will take place in Bell Cemetery at a later date.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
