Michael D Whitmer

Michael D. Whitmer, 37, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021.  He was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 1, 1983, son of Terry Whitmer of Logan and April Whitmer of Logan.  Michael was married to Chelsea O’Brien Whitmer, who survives.

Michael loved music, Ohio State football, and UFC.  He was an avid fisherman and felt most at peace when fishing in his "spot".  Michael was a pro painter and painted for over 20 years. Michael’s son, Luca was his entire world along with his step son, Elias, that he raised since 18 months old, and his special nephew, Jayden.  Michael’s family will remember him through his big smile, but even bigger heart.

In addition to his wife and parents, Michael is survived by his son, Luca Michael Whitmer; step son, Elias O’Brien; sister, Nikkia (Tony) Hunter; and nephew, Jayden Hunter.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Opal Whitmer and Tony and Betty McCann.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St, Logan.
