Mona Joette Jewell

Mona Joette Jewell, age 85, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Kimes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Athens.  She was born February 24, 1932 in Glouster, daughter of the late Ralph “Turtle” and Zenith Lowery Jewell.

She was raised on Waterworks Hill in Glouster and later moved to Kimberly Meadows Apartments in Nelsonville for many years until needing constant care at Kimes for the past 4 years. She was a great friend, patient and family to those she spent this time with.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Jewell and aunt, Dorothy Lowery Parker along with numerous cousins and many “special” friends who helped her through this life.

Mona was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ronnie Jewell; a special cousin, Dorothy “Cookie” Patterson and many members of the Lowery and Jewell families

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 30 Main St., Glouster.  Interment will be at Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster.  Friends may call from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

The family suggests contributions in memory of Mona Joette Jewell be made to the Kimes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund, 75 Kimes Lane, Athens, Ohio 45701.
