Naomi Joan New

Naomi Joan New, 80, of Logan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday February 17, 2018 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster.  She was born April 25, 1937 in Columbus, Ohio the daughter of the late Langley and Lillie Goble Faught.  She was married to the late Guy New Jr. who passed away in 1983.

She was retired from Goodyear in Logan, after 30 years of service.  She was a former member of Happy Hollow Church and Buchtel Pentecostal Church.

Naomi is survived by son, Eugene New of Peebles; daughter, Shirley Edmonds of Athens; grandchildren, Michelle Edmonds of Athens, Kelly Edmonds of Athens, Robin Viney of Texas and Heather Spivey of Florida; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Benny (Patty) Faught of Grove City; sister, Evelyn Vance of Canal Winchester; many nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Phillips; grandchildren, Matthew Minney, Diane Canfield and Aaron Guy Edmonds; infant brother, Charles Faught; brother, David Faught; sisters, Margaret Holcomb and Ruth Bauer.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday February 22, 2018 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with David Artrip officiating.  Interment will be in Connett Cemetery, Nelsonville.  Friends may visit Thursday from 11-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
