Nellie L. Owings

Nellie L. Owings, 95, of Logan, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 at Pickering House in Lancaster.  She was born July 27, 1922 in Hocking County, daughter of the late Michael and Fannie B. Wolfe Mohler.  Nellie was married for 72 years to the late William P. “Bill” Owings, who passed away June 3, 2017.

She was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Nellie is survived by her children, Sandra (Paul) Hoag of Reynoldsburg, Paul (Paula) Owings and Richard (Carol) Owings both of Logan; five grandchildren, Kelli (John) Arkley of Shawnee, Regina (Rodney) LeRue of Copperas Cove, Texas, Scott (Angela) Loudner of Bremen, Jason (Laura) Owings of New Straitsville and Richard Lee (Lynn) Owings of South Bloomingville; nine great grandchildren, Kyle, Sarah, Emma, Katie, Zachery, Kylee, Cheyenne, Hailey and Chloe; 2 great-great grandchildren, Paisley and Waylon; a sister, Joanne Smith of Logan as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Curtis Owings and Autumn Owings and a brother, Robert Mohler.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan with Pastor Steve Hubbard officiating. Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Perry County. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
