Norvella Mae Brookhart, 79, of Athens, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at The Laurels of Athens. She was born on November 22, 1940 in Vinton County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Norval C. and Susan M. Blackford South. She was married to the Rev. Paul E. Cottrill who preceded her in death, and Danny Lee Brookhart, since 2009, who survives.
She was a Teller at the Ohio University Credit Union, and several banks around Athens and McArthur. Norvella was a member of Radcliff Community Church, where her former husband was the Pastor.
Along with her husband, Norvella is survived by son, Edward Allan Cottrill of Wilkesville; daughter, Pamela (Brian) Mills of Glouster; grandchildren, Staci (Rodger) Rafferty of Jackson, Edward “Eddie” (Tabbi) Cottrill II of Athens, Kayla Tedrow of Glouster and Chris Tedrow of Athens; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley (Dan) Dearing of Logan; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday February 3, 2020 at the Garrett Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur with the Pastor Ricci Arthur officiating. Interment will be in Radcliff Cemetery, Radcliff. Friends may visit Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
