Opal Marie Sanders

Opal Marie Sanders, 91, of Kill Devil Hills, NC, formerly of Glouster, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Spring Arbor of the Outer Banks, Kill Devil Hills, NC. She was born October 2, 1925 in Athens County, daughter of the late Lawrence and Marie Linscott Myers. She was the widow of the late Harold William “Bill” Sanders who passed away January 4, 2010.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Lydia (Ken) McLean of Nags Head, NC, Larry Green of Columbus and Stephanie (Tim) Campbell of Nelsonville; ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and special friend and companion, Les Evans of Kill Devil Hills, NC.

In addition to her parents and husband, Opal was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Green; sister, Margaret Everette; half brother, Vincent Bailey and half sister, Elsie Antle.

A graveside service will be held at 2 P.M., Friday, June 2, 2017 at Hilltop Cemetery in Millfield. No visitation will be held. Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 30 Main St., Glouster.
