Patricia A. Monk

Patricia A. Monk, 78, of Nelsonville, passed away Tuesday May 22, 2018 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster. She was born March 14, 1940 in Nelsonville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Darrell King and Edith Pearl Arnold Figgins Sr. She was married to Andrew Jackson “Jack” Monk, for 59 years, who survives.

She was the former City Auditor for Nelsonville; she also worked for Lancaster Sales “LS” and C and J Tax Service both in Nelsonville. Member of Nelsonville VFW Auxiliary #3467, and she attended the Methodist Church. She was greatly loved by her family and will be sadly missed.

Along with her husband, Patricia is survived by sons, Andy Wayne (Candice Townsend) Monk of Nelsonville and Allen Keith (Laura) Monk of Nelsonville; daughters, Amy Jo (Jeffrey) Saving of Logan and Angela Jane Monk of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Jayd (Jimmy McDonald) Monk, Jeanie (James Galbraith) Monk, Alecia (Jarrod) Combs of Lancaster, Alania (Michael) Harper of Nelsonville, Beth Primmer, Heather (David) Kerns of Yellow Springs, Mallory Saving, Lacie (Matt Bender) Kaaz of Canal Winchester and Adam (Shanda Hunter) Kaaz of Glouster; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Wilson of Sugar Grove; brother in law, Terry Monk of Nelsonville; sisters in law, Becky McIntosh of Nelsonville, Marilyn Keplar of Cleveland and Becky Figgins of Logan; many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Darrell Jr., Max, Bob, Jerry, Keith and Michael Figgins; mother in law and father in law, Mary Lucille and Jack L. Monk; and sister in law, Judy Montgomery.

Patricia wanted to be cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday June 2, 2018 at the home of Jack Monk, 387 Adams St., Nelsonville, Ohio 45764. Arrangements are by the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
