Patty Sue Saunders

Patty Sue Saunders, 83, of McArthur, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. Patty was born on October 20, 1940, in Radcliff, the daughter of the late Ethel “Eck” Elma (Pendleton) and Edgar Hensler Jr. She was married for 54 years to the late Robert “Bob” Saunders.

Patty lived a wonderful life, and she adored her children and grandchildren.

Patty is survived by her children, Joe (Cindy) Saunders of McArthur, Theresa (David) Mercer of McArthur, and Lisa (Eddie) Sagraves of McArthur; grandchildren, Patricia (Chris) Trivette of Williamsport, Melissa (Andrew) Maldonado of Savannah, Georgia, Ryan (Telissa) Saunders of Frankfort, Emily (Sean) Caudill of Hamden, Andrea (Thomas) Mason of Jackson, Bradley Mercer of McArthur, and Alisha Sagraves of McArthur; great grandchildren, Colin and Adalynn Trivette, Bransen, Declan, and Ezmia Saunders, Brewer Caudill, and Michael Mason; brother, Jack (Sarah) Hensler of Columbus; sisters, Sally (Duke) Hopkins of Chillicothe and Vickie (John) Dearing of Jackson; daughter-in-law, Laurie Saunders of McArthur; and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Stinnett of Logan, Joan Failor of Bellefontaine, Joyce Sheline of McArthur, and Carlotta Hensler of McArthur. 

Patty was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Garry Saunders; granddaughter, Ashley Mercer; and brothers, Rick Hensler and Terry Hensler.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call Tuesday from 12 to 2 pm at the funeral home.
