Phillip A. Hopkins, 33, of California, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 in Sacramento, California. He was born June 28, 1985 in Logan, Ohio son of Marta (Drummond) Hopkins and to Larry D. Hopkins.
A carpenter and a craftsman, he graduated from Lancaster High School in 2003 after several years at Fisher Catholic High School. He loved working with his hands, animals (especially his dog Max), and the outdoors. He enjoyed several years living in New Orleans, LA., rehabbing homes and exploring its food and music before moving to northern California in 2016.
Phil is remembered fondly by his mother and step-father, Marta Hopkins and Terry Murray of Kettering, Ohio; father, Larry Hopkins of Waverly, Ohio; brother, Raleigh Hopkins of Laurelville, Ohio; two sisters, Hillary Hopkins of Columbus, Ohio; and Elizabeth Hopkins of Jeffersonville, New York and a niece, Olivia Hopkins. He also is lovingly remembered by his daughter; Isabella June Hattab of Dayton.
Services will be held at Maple St. United Methodist Church at 438 E. Wheeling St., Lancaster, Ohio, on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kevin Chambers officiating. Visitation will take place an hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Homes in Logan, Ohio.
