Priscilla Kay Barrows

Priscilla Kay Barrows, 66, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed from this earth peacefully on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from complications related to her battle with lung cancer. She was born August 7, 1956, in West Virginia.

Priscilla was know for her kindness to everyone she knew and intense love she had for her family, especially her grandsons. She was a member of Blackburn Hill Church of Christ in Athens.

Priscilla is survived by Henry Barrows III of Nelsonville, her husband of 28 years; her daughters, Monica (Hol) Bernardo of Murray City and Mary Varner of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Lowell Bernardo, Steven Varner, and Drake Varner. Also surviving are brothers and sisters, Dorothy Ervin, Pauline Watkins, Joyce Wilfong, Marian “Lou” (Robert) Seckman, Howard “Tom” Runyon, Janis “Gay” (Eric) Hill, Kathleen (Edward) Reeves, Allen (Penny) Runyon, and Judy (Ron) Williams; mother-in-law, Joan Barrows; brothers-in-law, Steve Barrows, Chris Barrows, and Patrick Barrows; also many nieces and nephews.

Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Runyon and Ruth (Marcum) Runyon of Athens; brother, Paul Welton Runyon; sisters, Ruby Ruth Skinner and Lelia Runyon; and father-in-law, Henry Barrows Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 12, 2023, in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with David Brothers officiating. Family and friends may visit from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Sunday. After services, Priscilla will be cremated, per her request.
