Raymond E. Skeens

Raymond E. Skeens Sr., 69, of Hamden, passed away at his daughter’s home, surrounded by loved ones, on Friday, August 26, 2022.  He was born October 1, 1952, the son of the late Oscar and Patricia (Holtz) Skeens.

Raymond served in the US Marine Corps during Vietnam.  He loved spending time with his family, ginseng hunting, and trains.  He also loved to worship the Lord.

Raymond is survived by his sons, David Skeens of Wellston, Brian Skeens of Wellston, Curtis Skeens of Wellston, and J.R. Skeens of Lancaster; daughters, Laura Sanders of Thurston; Carie (Jeremy Markin) Skeens of Cheshire, and Brittany Rosales of Thurston; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and brothers, Michael (Cathy) Skeens, James Skeens, Rick Skeens, Gary (Rhoda) Skeens, and Steve (Cheryl) Skeens.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Skeens; and sisters, Linda Griffey and Virginia Wolfe.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 1, 2022, in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Randy Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Hamden Cemetery.  Friends may visit from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Donations may be made in memory of Raymond to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
