Renee was educated in the private parochial school system in NYC. She graduated from Our Savior Lutheran School in 1981, receiving various scholarships and awards. Renee chose to attend Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Who knew Renee would love Ohio and call it home. It was at Ohio University, Renee met lifelong friends who would eventually become her “Ohio Family”. Renee graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Computer Science. Renee then furthered her education by attending Hocking Technical College in Nelsonville, Ohio, where she received other degrees.
It was in Athens, Ohio where Renee became a mom of twin boys. Her dedication to raising her sons was her primary responsibility. They were involved in various sporting activities, Boy Scouts and eventually became Eagle Scouts showing that Renee was “THAT MOM”. Her pride and joy for her sons was unparallel.
Renee worked at Walmart for many years until health complications forced her to retire early. Renee’s coworkers would become her “Ohio Family”. Renee’s kindness and witty nature was loved by all who met her.
Renee’s love for literature made her an avid reader and she would spend countless hours in the Nelsonville Public Library.
Renee was a lifelong Christian and she loved the Lord. Her church home in Nelsonville was Greater Works Outreach Worship Center, Renee would volunteer and participate in various Church activities. Her Church family was always a topic of discussion whenever she spoke with her mom. The Church members would become a part of her “Ohio Family”.
Renee leaves to cherish her precious memories; her parents, Irene S. Carter and Kenneth A. Carter Sr. Two loving sons who were the light of her world, Dante and Dwayne Carter. A sister, Kennita Bolds and a brother, Kenneth A. Carter Jr. Three nieces and two nephews, numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and other relatives; her “Ohio Family” and her beloved Church members.
