Reuben William “Butch” Schluntz, Jr., 74, of Logan, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 at his residence. He was born September 24, 1943 in Crete, illinois, son of the late Reuben William and Velma Schultz Schluntz. Butch was the widower of the late Louise Cothran Schluntz.
He was a retired engineer from the ArcelorMittal Steel Mill in Indiana. He was a member of the Single Action Shooters Society (SASS) and was an avid HAM radio enthusiast.
He is survived by his children, Kristie (Tony) Kiser of Logan, Anita Sills, Pam Gadberry, Patty Nemec and Allan (Andrea) Gadberry all of Indiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Florine Perry of Nevada and Diane Cellini of California as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two sons, Carroll Gadberry and Roger Nemec.
Mr. Schluntz’ wishes were to be cremated. No services will be held at this time. A private family graveside service will be held in Merrillville, Indiana at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.
