Rhoda Kaye Eberts

July 23, 1964 — July 16, 2024

Rhoda Kaye Eberts, 59, unexpectedly passed away July 16, 2024, at Adena Regional Medical Center, in Chillicothe. She was born July 23, 1964, to the late Leo and Nancy Andrews Eberts. Rhoda was a lifelong Vinton Countian, who often said, “I love where I live, I live where I love” and “Once a Viking, always a Viking.” She was an employee of Austin Powder Company, and formerly of Ohio University. During her time at Ohio University, she formed several bonds with those in the music building.

To know Rhoda was to know true passion, anything she did, she did to the fullest. She spent most of her extra time between her family, and outdoors. She would do both if she could, like teaching several of her nieces and nephews the joys and responsibility of hunting. If she wasn’t hunting, fishing, or picking her blackberries and asparagus, she could be found spending time with her family at places like Jack Pine, The Columbus Blue Jacket Stadium, or her favorite, at home in nature.  Rhoda was an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan and a 37-year member of the McArthur Eagles.

Rhoda is survived by her four Siblings, Kathy (Barry) Boyer, Sharon (Junior) Hunter, Doug Eberts, and Jenny (Donald) Bell, and a special motherly figure, Ruby Bell, nieces April and Kennedi, and nephews, Matthew, Wayne, Andrew, Caleb and Dan, several great nieces and nephews, and many close friends she made throughout her life, all whom she loves dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nancy and Leo Eberts, and special friends Steve Smith, and Barbara Deal.

In honoring Rhoda’s wishes, she will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Rhoda Eberts to the Buckeye Hero Hunt, c/o Lisa Bentley, 64700 Woodgeard Rd., Creola, Ohio 45622. She loved to be involved and support the hunt in any way she possibly could.
