Richard "Dick" Kent Ferguson

Richard “Dick” Kent Ferguson, 65, of McArthur, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at his residence. He was born November 22, 1959, in McArthur, Ohio, son of Julia Parfitt Ferguson of McArthur and the late George Ferguson. Dick was married to Janice “Jan” Kay Ferguson, who survives.

He retired after 30 years from Ohio University as a Maintenance Specialist and was a member of the McArthur Eagles. 

In addition to his mother and wife, Dick is survived by his son, Justin (Micaela) Ferguson of McArthur; daughter, Andrea (Chad) Campbell of McArthur; grandchildren, Alexia, Holden and Cameron; brother, David (Joy) Ferguson of McArthur; sisters, Jane Nickels of McArthur and Jan (Charlie) Cecil of McArthur; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Kenny Horrocks of Nelsonville. 

Dick’s wishes were to be cremated, and no services will be held. Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, Ohio 45651. 

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Richard “Dick” Ferguson to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
