Richard Lee Elliott, 77, of Nelsonville, passed away on Thursday, November 2nd, 2023, at O’Bleness Hospital, Athens. Born August 14, 1946, in Logan, Ohio, Richard was the son of the late Harry and Rose (Fugitt) Elliott. He is survived by his wife Connie (Priser) Elliott.
Rich retired from Goodyear in Logan. He was a 1964 graduate of Nelsonville High School and a member of the Nelsonville High School Alumni Association. He was also a former member of the Ohio Falconry Association. Rich was an avid fan of baseball, basketball, and football. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching, and he loved to share and teach the skills he had learned throughout his life. Rich’s greatest pride and joy were his granddaughters and great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Rich is survived by his daughter, Tara Elliott of Pataskala; son, Scott Elliott of Albany; granddaughters, Lauren (George), Lisa (Jimmy), and Elizabeth; great grandchildren, Jaylyn, Kassidy, Kaedance, Jalise, and Leo; brothers, Ron (Michelle) Elliott and Mike (Sharon) Elliott; sister, Sandy (Gary) Warren; brother-in-law, Forbes Hotchkiss; and many nieces, nephews, and family.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Sue (Denver) Johnson; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy (Sally) Elliott; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Hotchkiss and Tanya Howe and (Jack Sickels, her life partner).
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville ( https://www.google.com/maps/search/46+Fayette+St ). Family and friends may visit from 2 to 3 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
