Richard Guy Fried

Richard Guy Fried, 67, of McArthur, formerly from Oklahoma, passed away Monday, October 4, 2021, at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio.  He was born June 27, 1954, in Oxnard, California, son of the late J.C. and Betty Bryant Conner.  Richard was married to Velvet Thomason Fried, who survives.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his daughter, Savanna; son, Richard (Sheena); stepsons, Dustin, Vincent and Zachary; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Jim (Tammy) Conner and sisters, Sharon (Larry) Claxton and Judy Conner.

He was a retired electrical technician.  Richard was a wonderful man who cherished his family and grandchildren.  He was an old cowboy who was always outside tinkering on something and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his music including his guitars and harmonica.  Richard will be loved and missed forever by all that knew him and will always be shining in the sky.  “It’s just a Guy thing.”

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are by Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.
