Richard Michael "Mike" Baughman

Richard Michael “Mike” Baughman, 70, of Logan, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at his residence.  He was born December 12, 1951, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of Joyce (Mann) Baughman of Glenford, Ohio and the late Clarence Richard “Dick” Baughman.  Mike married his best friend and the love of his life, Linda (Layne) Baughman on July 6, 1983.  They were married for 39 years.

He was a graduate of Sheridan High School. Upon graduation, he proudly served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He retired as a truck driver after a long, successful career with Walmart. After retiring, Mike continued to love his Walmart family. Anyone that knew Mike, knew how much he loved Jesus, family, and his country. More than anything, he enjoyed being on his Goldwing and took many trips with friends. In Mike’s last few years, he spent a lot of time as grandpa, a title he dearly loved. His sincere kindness, sense of humor, and quick wit will certainly be missed.

Mike is also survived by his son, Dameon (Samantha) Baughman of Crooksville; daughters, Samantha (Will) Woods of Logan and Melissa (Daniel) Salmons of Martinsburg; grandchildren, Reece and Elijah Woods of Logan, Braxton and Quinn Sayers of Crooksville and AJ Salmons of Martinsburg and a sister, Dena Smith of Somerset.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Baughman and nephew, Aaron Smith.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, October 7, 2022, in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Mike Tobin officiating, who is a friend of Mike’s.  Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Perry County, with military graveside services being conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
