Richard L. Rooker

Richard L. Rooker, Sr., 68, of Rockbridge, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Main Street Terrace Care Center, Lancaster.  He was born March 23, 1949 in Lancaster, son of the late Ervin and Clara Faye Primmer Rooker.  Richard was married to Mabel Herb Rooker, who survives, for 47 years.

He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam and was employed at Stuck Foundry in Lancaster for 30 years.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by a son, Rick (Crescent) Rooker of Logan; grandchildren, Danielle Belcher, Krista Rollins, Deidre Belcher, Whitney Belcher, Cymon Rooker and Addy Rooker; great grandchildren, Abby and Willow; siblings, David Rooker of Carroll, John (Martha) Rooker of Logan, Bob (Connie) Rooker of Circleville, Ann (Tom) Milby of Lancaster, Newt (Denise) Rooker of Sugar Grove, Dean (Kelly) Rooker of South Bloomingville and Tommy (Vickie) Rooker of Logan; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Danny Belcher and a brother, Raymond Rooker.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, February 19, 2018 at Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Pastor Diora Shahan-Edgell officiating.  Interment will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 4-7 p.m.
