Richie Richards

Richie Richards, also known as Dorothy Denney, 89, of Delaware, Ohio, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Grady Memorial Hospital, Delaware. She was born October 31, 1934, in Gallia County, Ohio, to the late David Gomer and Hazel Frances (Clark) Richards.

Richie was one of the first female school bus drivers in Columbus, and also worked as a secretary. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Richie loved her plants and was an avid gardener, as well as doing many different crafts.

Richie is survived by her children, Jeri Lynn Reffitt of Columbus, Thomas (Barbara) Denney of Logan, and Craig (Sandy) Denney of Delaware; grandchildren, Samuel Reffitt, Charlie (Crystal) Reffitt, and Katherine Calvert; great-grandchildren, Lahna, Aria, Raven, and Rowan; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Hazel Richards.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, July 1, 2024, at Tyn Rhos Cemetery in Gallia County, with Pastor John Jackson of New Life Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 pm until the time of the service at the cemetery.
