Robert Lee Bownes

Robert Lee Bownes, 71, of Athens, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at his residence.  He was born August 15, 1946, son of the late Desmer and Sylvia Norris Bownes. He was married to Brenda Sue Six Bownes, who survives.

He was retired from Logan Clay Products and was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Bryan (Bridgette) Bownes of Logan and Brent (Rebecca) Bownes of Logan, Rodney (Mia) Weaver of Albany and Josh Weaver of Nelsonville; daughters, Debbie (Rob) Meyers of Newark, Toni Koska and Linda Koska both of Athens; 17 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Pittman of Logan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Rocky Bownes and sister, Linda Bownes.

Mr. Bownes’ wishes were to be cremated and no services will be held at this time. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville
