Robert Earl "Bob" Dishong

Robert Earl “Bob” Dishong, 71, of Nelsonville, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 at his residence.  He was born June 6, 1947 in Logan, Ohio, son of Mary F. Hatfield Dishong of Coolville and the late Harold “Burt” Dishong.  He was married to Cheryl Lynn McQuaid Dishong, for 52 years, who survives.

He was retired from Goodyear in Logan, and worked there for almost 32 years.  He also worked for Monk Heating and Air Conditioning in Nelsonville.  He was a social member at the Nelsonville VFW, post 3467 and was nearly a life-member and former Trustee for the Nelsonville Elks Lodge.

Along with his mother and wife, he is survived by daughters, Carol (Bob) McDonald of Hilliard and Kelly Maiden of Carbon Hill; beloved grandchildren, Maddie (Kyle) Comer of Cincinnati, Morgan McDonald, Justin and Garrett Maiden; brother, Jerry (Melanie) Dishong of Nelsonville; sister, Pamela (Les) Washburn of Coolville; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by sister, Tamela Lanning and son-in-law, Tom Maiden.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday November 28, 2018 the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.  Rev. Mike Thomas officiating.  Interment will be in Whitmore Cemetery, Nelsonville.  Friends may visit Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
