Robert Matthew Sowers Sr.

Robert Matthew Sowers Sr., 73, of Ray, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.  He was born September 8, 1945 in Allensville, son of the late John and Mary Bethel Sowers Sr.

Bob retired from Buckeye Automatic.

He is survived by his children, Robert “Bobby” Sowers Jr. of Ray, Samantha Conger of Ray, Zachary David Sowers of Ray, Pete (Jennifer) Pittman of Glenroy, Tressa (Dave) Lester of Beaver and Gina Pittman of McArthur; grandchildren, Lacy Ross, Shawn Sowers, Joe Sowers, Jake Sowers, Jacob Conger, Logan Conger, Zachary Coppock, Kellee Evans, Kylee Sowers, Zoey Sowers, Rylan Sowers, Kage Sowers, Zeigha Sowers, Lucas Pittman, Hank Pittman, Allie Long, Andee Lester and Ashtyn Lester; great grandchildren, Chase, Jaiden, Allyann, Trinitee, Hayden, Josee and Makenna; brothers, Jim (Kay) Sowers, Mike (Kathy) Sowers and Dave (Maggie) Sowers, all of Allensville and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Lynette “Nickie” Sowers; great grandchild, Wyatt Sowers; brothers, Larry Sowers and John Sowers Jr.; sisters, Joyce Lynch and Karen Owings.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, September 21, 2018 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Justin Conley officiating.  Interment will be in Bell Cemetery, McArthur.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 4-8 p.m.
