Rodney M. Denney

Rodney M. “Mike” Denney, 66, of Nelsonville, passed away Wednesday June 13, 2018 at his residence.  He was born March 12, 1952, in Columbus, son of the late Charles Wesley and Clistia Jane Pack Denney.

Mike was employed by Lucent Technologies for over 25 years and then Walmart for over 10 years. He was a member of the Logan Moose Lodge and the Nelsonville VFW.

He is survived by sons, Brad Varney of Somerset, Scott W. Denney of Sabina, Steve M. Denney of Baltimore and Shawn Denney of Gahanna; eight grandchildren; brothers, Charles “Butch” Denney of Lancaster and Ronnie Denney of Columbus; sisters, Sandra K. (Chuck) Pyett and Shari M. (Jesse) Mash both of Nelsonville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Carr.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating.  Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call from 5-8 PM, Friday at the funeral home.

The family of Mike Denney would like to express a special thank you to the staff at O’Bleness Hospital and the Infusion Nurses at the Castrop Center for the special care they gave to him and his family during his illness and also to Hope Mash for her care and assistance.
