Ruby Mae Mace

Ruby Mae Mace, 62, of Nelsonville, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Embassy of Logan. Ruby was born October 4, 1961, in Nelsonville, the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Elma Jean (VanHorn) Coey. She was the widow of the late John L. Mace Sr., who passed on December 6, 2023.

Ruby is survived by her sons, Matthew Mace of The Plains and John L. Mace Jr. of Lancaster; brothers, Ronald Coey of North Carolina, Donald (Joy) Coey of Glouster, and Joe (Nicole) Coey of Glouster; sisters, Karen (Jim) Ruggles of Grove City and Alberta (Tim) Bartlett of Athens; half-sister, Pam Ivory of Grove City; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Richard and Ben; brother, Richard Coey; and half-brother, Rob Travis.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Pastor Gary Alton officiating. Interment will be in Athens Memory Gardens, Athens. Family and friends may visit from 11 am to 1 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
