Ruth Ann Warren

Ruth Ann Warren, 87, of Nelsonville, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at the Laurels of Athens.  She was born November 9, 1934, in Floodwood, Ohio, the daughter of the late Clifford and Clara Lanning Koon.  Ruth was the widow of the late Charles “Charlie” Warren.

Ruth and Charlie owned and operated several Dairy Queen restaurants in Nelsonville and Athens County for nearly 40 years.

Ruth is survived by her sons, C. David (Cheryl) Warren of Ft. Myers, Florida, Tim (Judy) Warren of Nelsonville, and Cliff (Robin) Warren of Nelsonville; grandchildren, David (Amy) Warren, Chris (Donita) Warren, Jason (Michelle) Warren, Kayla (Beidy) Sow, T.L. (Sabrina) Warren, Alan (Michelle) Warren, Joe (Kendra) Warren, and Lisa (Tom) Heaton; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, June Bean.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her brothers, Arthur Koon, Alva “Tip” Koon, and Don Koon; and sisters, Gladys Childress and Elsie Walker.

Private services will be held for Ruth. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville.  Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
