Sandra "Sandy" Kay Pyett

Sandra Kay “Sandy” Pyett, 75, of Nelsonville, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at her residence.  She was born June 18, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late Charles Wesley and Clistia Pack Denney.  Sandy was married for 57 years to Charles H. Pyett, who survives.

Sandy has always been a mother and caregiver to her family and others, starting at the age of 9, when she raised her siblings after her mother passed away.   She loved to cook and feed her family and all others were welcome too.  She loved Chinese Auctions and Bingo.  Sandy also enjoyed her time with the ladies at the O’Bleness Infusion Center.

Sandy is survived by her sons, Tony (Mary) Pyett of Lancaster and Tim (Sabrina) Pyett of Toledo; grandchildren, Emma Pyett, Anthony Pyett, and Travis Brownell; great grandchild, Giulietta Brownell; brother, Butch Denney of Nelsonville; sister, Shari (Jesse) Mash of Nelsonville; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Denney and her beloved sidekick, Oliver.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, December 9, 2023, in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Pastor Philip Foster officiating.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville.  Visitation will be held on Friday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
