Sara "Sally" Leake

Sara Louisa “Sally” Leake, 81 of Buchtel, passed away at her home on Monday, July 31, 2023. She was born January 1, 1942, in Pontiac, Michigan, the daughter of the late Mark and Ruth (Altman) Shelton. Sally was the widow of the late Thomas Joseph Leake.

Sally was a loving mother and Gigi.  She loved reading and she loved to watch her grandchildren in all their activities. She will be remembered for her big heart and love for everyone.

Sally is survived by sons, Tom Leake of Buchtel and Donald (Maryann) Bowers of Buchtel; daughters, Pam Sullivan of Buchtel, Cheryl (Jerry) Higgins of Nelsonville, Barb (Chris) Kistner of Grove City, Angie (Phillip) Bowers of Grove City, Cara (Mark) Bowers, and Leslie Shelton of Nelsonville; grandchildren, Joe (Keri) Higgins, Billy (Jamie) Williamson, Cheri (Eric) Landrum, Taylor (Jessica) Sullivan, and Sara (Kenneth) Wollett; great grandchildren, Mikaela, Jordyn, Annica, Ethan, Emily, Lexi, Mason, Bennett, Brynlee, Jessica, Sarah, Nicole, Jarod (Jennifer), Addison (Walker), Marcella, Olivia, Avery, Ashley, and Matthew; best friend, Joellen Abdella; and her fur baby, Lily.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sally was preceded in death by her brothers, Mark Shelton and James Shelton; and son-in-law, Tony Sulivan.

A Celebration of Sally’s Life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are by the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
