Scott L. Courter, 66, of Logan, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 20, 2022. He was born July 10, 1955, in Columbus, the son of the late Ralph F. and Jo Ann (Heckert) Courter.
Scott was the owner and operator of Scott Courter Excavating. He loved his children, grandchildren, and operating heavy equipment. He enjoyed drag racing, mud running, racing motorcycles, and playing softball. He also enjoyed a good book, listening to music, especially the Beach Boys, or just having a conversation with family, friends, or a stranger. He was a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau and attended Webb Chapel United Methodist Church.
Scott is survived by his daughters, Sharra (Michael) Turner of Logan and Krista (Jeremy Daubenmire) Courter of Logan; grandchildren, Ty Turner, Kylee Daubenmire, Jenna Daubenmire, and Jacob Daubenmire; sister, Jan (Tom) Rauch of Logan; sister and brother by heart, Lynn and Luke Horn; nephews, Bryon Rauch and Cameron, Kyle, and Caden Horn; and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandmother, Mary Idella Heckert.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 25, 2022, in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Rev. Charlene Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Gibisonville. Friends may visit Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
