Shelley L. Sullivan

Shelley L. Sullivan, 69, of Buchtel, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born March 7, 1954, in Nelsonville, the daughter of John L. and Prentice (Newman) Sullivan of Buchtel.

Shelley was a 1972 graduate of Nelsonville York High School. She was an amazing and wonderful daughter, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Shelley is survived by her daughter, Brandy McElfresh of Groveport; son, Chuck (Jennifer) Sullivan of Pleasantville; grandchildren, Kaytlynn Sullivan, Sheridan Sullivan, Madelynn Sullivan, and Peyton Sullivan; sister-in-law, Pam Sullivan; special aunt, Patty Sullivan; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles; and special friends, Teresa Whitmore, Rayna Moore, Angela Carrier, George Addis, Sherri Irwin, and Katie Conkle.

She was preceded in death by her brother, John Anthony “Tony” Sullivan, and grandparents, Guy and Mary Day and Nicholas and Imogene Newman.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Pastor David Shoemaker officiating. Friends may visit from 1 to 2 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

The family suggests donation be made in memory of Shelley to the Nelsonville Food Cupboard, 421 Chestnut St., Nelsonville, Ohio 45764.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Shelley’s oncology nurses, Savannah and Gretchen, and all of the doctors at Riverside Methodist Hospital CTVS.
