Shirlene Amerine, 81, of Zaleski, passed away Monday, March 22, 2021 at her daughters’ residence in Zaleski. She was born May 21, 1939, in Paintsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Willie and Allie Prater Hale. Shirlene was the widow of the late Dean Amerine.
She was the former owner of the Village Inn in Zaleski and Tri County Asphalt Company.
Shirlene is survived by her son, Michael (Sharyn) Amerine of Zaleski; daughter, Lisa Amerine of Zaleski; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Marvin Hale of Albany, David Hale of Albany, Gary Hale of McArthur, Glen Hale of McArthur and Bill Hale of McArthur; sisters, Emma Norris of Wellston and Wanda Hale of McArthur and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Keith Amerine; brothers, Charles, Chris and Wallace Hale and sister, Sara Lynn Hale.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, March 26, 2021 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
