Shirley R. Bostater, 74, of Buchtel Ohio, transitioned from this earthly labor to her Heavenly Home April 15, 2022, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Shirley was born in Chauncey, Ohio, to the late Betty and Orville Lyons Sr. on February 13, 1948,
She graduated from Nelsonville Greyhounds in Nelsonville, Ohio. She attended Nelsonville Wesleyan Church where she volunteered in many outreach programs for the community. She worked multiple jobs while putting herself through Nursing school at Hocking Technical College where she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse. Her passion was working with the elderly where she spent most of her career as Director of Nursing for Arcadia Acres Nursing Center & Pine Hills Continuing Care Center. She also worked for Hocking Correctional as a Registered nurse and with Hopewell Health. Shirley also was a trainer for the State Tested Nurse Aide Certification by the Ohio Health Association.
Shirley Loved her family, Listening to Gospel Music, watching Netflex and her dogs, Molly and Kirby.
Shirley was married to the late Charles R. Bostater. They had three children Kristina (Dale) Gray of Galloway, Ohio, Marianne (Charles) Nelson of Chillicothe, Ohio and Craig (Missy) Bostater of Buchtel, 2 stepchildren Roman and Christian Gabriel. She had a strong faith and following of our Lord Jesus Christ. After the passing of Charles Bostater, she remarried to Jack Gabriel for the last 22 years. She has 10 grandchildren Joshlyn Mills, Seth Gray, Lauren Johnson, Kendra Hope, Sara Nelson, Daniel Nelson, Alexis McMannas, Kerin Bostater,Taylor Gabriel, Hunter Gabriel, 4 great grandchildren, Ian Gray, Josiah Gray, Eden Hope, Isabella Johnson, brothers, Roger (Rose) Lyons of New Marshfield, Orville (Bobbi) Lyons of Nelsonville and Rob Lyons of Chillicothe and her lifelong best friend, Connie Dishong.
Shirley is preceded in death by mother and father Betty and Orville Lyons Sr., late husband Charles Bostater and nephew Robert Dale Lyons.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
