Shirley Carolyn Rausch

Shirley Carolyn Rausch, 86, of Logan, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan.  She was born September 2, 1935, in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  Shirley was married to the late Norman Rausch.

She was a retired cook from the Ridgway Area School District.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Michael (Cynthia) Rausch of Logan and Jeffery (Shelia) Rausch of Waxhaw, North Carolina; grandchildren, Karen, Janice, Linda, Elizabeth, Michelle, Leah and Hannah; twelve great grandchildren; brothers, Rudolph Melzer of Ridgway, Pennsylvania and John Melzer of Tarentum, Pennsylvania; sister, Juliana (Douglas) Deemer of New Kensington, Pennsylvania and sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Lowell Peery of Logan.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepparents, William and Rose Walkanis; sisters, Margaret Vardis and Rose Russell and nephew, David Merritt.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, January 17, 2022, in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Kyle Eveland officiating.  Private burial will be in Oakmont Cemetery in Ridgway, Pennsylvania.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, one hour prior to the service.
