For twenty-plus years and while married to the Mother of his children, Debbie Eberts (Drake); Steve enjoyed his profession of carpentry and woodworking. The winds of change blew, and he relocated to Kentucky. Steve re-married, gained a bonus Son and started a new career in Corrections; where he retired as Lieutenant.

Steve held family high on the list of importance. No matter the miles between, he had a unique relationship with his family. The love he had for his children was abundant, but his Grandchildren held a special place in his heart.

Steve was an intelligent, witty, and compassionate man with a very special, light-hearted sense of humor. His smiling eyes and infectious laughter brought happiness to all blessed to have known them.

Over the years Steve had many interests, but one he always kept a passion for was art; he was partial to oil painting and charcoal drawings. He created many beautiful works of art throughout his life, but the most important works to him were for the Lord. He found great solace in the Word of God, and joy in sharing it. Steve's voice was lovely. This became apparent as he lovingly carried the tunes of uplifting songs and traditional hymns, for all to hear. His personal relationship with God no doubt carried him through the storms of life.

For Steve's unshakeable faith and determination to be a beacon of God's light, he has most assuredly been rewarded. Steve will be missed beyond measure, however much like his memory; he lives on eternally wrapped in God's love and peace.

A celebration of Steve's life will be held for the family at a later time. Arrangements by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
