Steven Mark Yinger

Steven Mark Yinger, 50, of Nelsonville, OH, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at his residence. He was born March 25, 1967, in Logan, Ohio, son of Jerry and Edna Howdyshell Yinger of Nelsonville. He was married to Kathy Johnson Yinger, who survives, for 22 years.

He was a retired Army Veteran. He worked for Buckeye Steel in Columbus, and SCI in Lancaster. He was a member of the American Legion in Nelsonville, The Farm Bureau and The Buchtel United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children, Christopher Yinger and Audra Yinger both of Nelsonville; father and mother-in-law, Terry and Ruth Alice Johnson of Buchtel; special grandma, Ethel Johnson of Buchtel; brother, Matthew (Leslie) Yinger of Nelsonville; sister, Tammy Ogg of Nelsonville; nieces and nephews, Brittany, Jake, Kaylie, Colt and Collin; grand nephew and grand niece, Layne and Maci and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dewey and Audra Howdyshell; and paternal grandparents, Willard “Bill” and Betty Yinger.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Buchtel United Methodist Church, 17890 N. Akron Ave., Buchtel, Ohio 45716 with Pastor Dave Shoemaker officiating. Interment with military honors will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Nelsonville. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service at the Buchtel United Methodist Church.
