Susann D. Merz

Susann D Merz, 89, of Buchtel, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023, at Carolyn's  Cottage, in Grove City. She was born Sunday, March 18, 1934, in Buchtel, Ohio, daughter of the late Harry and Ruth Newman Kieffer.

She was a long-time employee of Litton Industries in Athens, owned an ice cream shop in Buchtel and later was employed by Doctors Hospital in Nelsonville.

In addition to her parents, Susann was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Merz; brother, Jack Kieffer and sister-in-law, Phyllis Kieffer.

Susann is survived by her nieces, Jackie (Stephen) Carder of Nelsonville, Cindy (Michael) Lavely, of Grove City, and Mary (Kyle) Dupler of Grove City; great nephews and nieces, Seth (Jamie) McDonald, Daniel (Arelle) McDonald, Megan (Matthew) Slyh, Jacqueline (Eric) Smith, and Collin Dupler.

A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 am, Monday, September 25, 2023, in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. No visitation will be held. Arrangements are by Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
