Sylvia J. Wadley

Sylvia J. Wadley, 81, of Chauncey, passed away Monday April 22, 2019 at Licking Memorial Hospital, Hospice Unit in Newark.  She was born May 5, 1937 in Hebron, Ohio, the daughter of the late Joseph and Janice Burdette Hanby.  She was married to the late Harold R. Wadley, for 41 years, who preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Chauncey Christian Church, Hocking Valley Parish; member of Chauncey Friendly Circle and Athens Foster Grandparents.  She was greatly loved by her family and will be sadly missed.

Sylvia is survived by a daughter, Joan (Jim) Marshall of Lancaster; sons, Charles (Sue) Wadley of Hebron, William (Maria) Wadley of Lewisberry, PA, Randolph (Michelle) Wadley of North Canton, and Kenneth (Annette) Wadley of Cleveland; grandchildren, Christopher (Jill) Wadley of Farmdale, Jason Bemiller of Columbus, Wyatt Wadley of Lewisberry, PA, Laurel Wadley of Warren, Ava Wadley of North Canton, Maria, David and Matthew Wadley of North Canton; Kyle, Keith, Amanda and Kevin of Cleveland and Rylee Walker of Hebron; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Paul Bemiller; brother, Robert Hanby of Georgia; sisters, Florence “Flo” Desmone of Heath, Kathy Thompson of Arizona and Cindy (Rick) Innis of Dayton; numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, William and Jack Hanby; sister Janet DeBrosky and parents in law, Charles and Virgie Wadley.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday April 26, 2019 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Pastor Debbie Koons officiating.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, New Addition, Nelsonville.  Friends may visit Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the start of the service at the funeral home.
