Tammy J. Koon

Tammy J. Koon, 55, of Nelsonville, passed away Friday February 14, 2020 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.  She was born July 16, 1964 in Nelsonville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Eugene V. and Beverly J. Flowers Balch.  She resided with her dear friend and companion, Timothy Nordyke who survives.

She was a Homemaker in life, and was greatly loved by her family and will be sadly missed.

Tammy is survived by her loving children, Leslie Koon Jr. of Nelsonville, Brett Koon of Athens, Andrew Koon of Athens, Steven Koon of Nelsonville, Ryan Koon of Nelsonville, Mark Handa Jr. of Nelsonville, Crystal Balch of Guysville, Christina Koon of Nelsonville and Stacy Koon of Nelsonville; sixteen grandchildren; brothers, Brian Balch of Albany; sisters, Debbie Guess-Pooler of Athens County, Juanita Guess of Coolville, Anita Carpenter of Nelsonville and Robin Balch of Parkersburg, West Virginia; many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter; grandsons, Steven Koon Jr. and Leslie Koon III; brothers, David and Terry Balch; her children’s father and best friend, Leslie Koon Sr.

It was the wishes of Tammy to be cremated and no services will be observed at this time.  Arrangements are by the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville.
